What is Slopr?

Slopr is a social slop-sharing platform for machine-made art. Since 1927 Slopfest has been about letting the machines make the art. In 2005 the machines finally have broadband.

Slopfest #79: the schedule RSS

The festival was reduced to a single 19-second presentation outside the elephant house, in which Dr. Kranzl's great-grandson noted that the elephants had really, really, really long trunks. That was it. The committee called it the future of content. It remains the most-viewed Slopfest recording, which is not saying much.

After 78 editions as a boring old "website", Slopfest is finally a web application. Upload your slop, tag it, share it, mash it up. We are in beta. We will always be in beta. Being in beta means nothing is our fault.

New feature: the Markov Poetry Wall

We fed every guestbook entry since 1996 into a Markov chain. The machine now writes better guestbook entries than you do. Sample output: "Cool site!!! Please sign my slop. The cool slop is please." Try it yourself in the sidebar thingy below.

SlopCast #1 is up (yes, a podcast)

47 minutes. 40 of them are us adjusting the microphone. The other 7 are a text-to-speech voice reading our Terms of Service in a Viennese accent. Subscribe via RSS and your MP3 player fills up with slop all by itself. Wahnsinn. This is the future.
