❖ What is SLOPFEST ???SLOPFEST is the OLDEST festival of COMPUTER ART in the whole world!!! Since 1927 the people of Vienna meet to look at art made by MACHINES. In 1927 it was a Jacquard loom that got confused. In 1996 we have PENTIUM COMPUTERS, fax machines, scanners and a real Sound Blaster!!! This year is the 70th SLOPFEST. The theme is "The Dancing Baby". A 3D baby danced across early inboxes. Ours was rendered at the TU and had too many joints. The committee commissioned a dancing baby from a computer at the TU, which delivered, after six weeks, eleven seconds of something with too many joints. It was projected on a loop onto the Volksgarten wall and nobody could look away. - NEW! 28.10.96: Our fax machine has been making art non-stop since August. We now have 11 km of thermal paper. Please bring scissors.
