Blurry Figure, Walking Away
A shaky, minute-long film proved everything and nothing. Our entire aesthetic, in 1967.
Museum status: Rejected by three major museums. Framed anyway.

What happened
Guests were led into the forest with cameras to film the Wienerwald Yeti, which the committee assured them was nearby. All 60 films show the same thing: a tall figure in a borrowed fur coat, walking away. H. C. Artmann wrote it a sonnet on the spot. The figure has never been identified, and the treasurer has never been asked.
