What happened
The committee added Pluto to the lineup and printed 'Now With Nine Planets' on every poster. Arnold Schoenberg, passing through, wrote a short piece for nine planets and one festival that nobody could hum. Guests got telescopes pointed at the Kahlenberg. Hermine's minutes list Pluto's attendance as 'confirmed', a status it held until 2006.
Elsewhere in 1930
Clyde Tombaugh discovers Pluto at Lowell Observatory in Arizona. It is announced as the solar system's ninth planet.
