Pastel gowns, Alpine meadows and a waltz every eleven minutes. Our first theme color was 'Sissi pink'.

What happened
The film would not open until December, so the committee worked from the poster alone. It ordered 900 pastel ribbons and 40 kilos of edible glitter, then discovered it could undo neither. All 318 guests came dressed as an empress, including the band. Karlheinz Böhm waltzed with every one of them and left looking only slightly tired.
